I first met Keaton when I was organizing the ASP ModSquad’s fair photoshoot. She works for the Georgia National Fairgrounds & Agricenter, and she was my main contact to get that shoot approved. She loved our ModSquad photos and contacted me about a “secret” couple shoot at the fair. I absolutely love surprises, and this is my favorite type (no offense to surprise birthday parties, I love cake, too). Scroll down to see the surprise from this Fair Portrait Session…
I was really looking forward to meeting Clay and seeing the couple together. Keaton had told me how important the Fair was to both of them. Keaton has been working for the Georgia National Fairgrounds & Agricenter for three years, and prior to that she grew up showing livestock there. Keaton has also spent every birthday at the Georgia National Fairgrounds & Agricenter since she was 9 years old! Clay is an Agricultural teacher for a local high school, and they spend more time here exhibiting livestock than they do in school. They both share a passion for Ag, livestock and the FFA Organization. The Georgia National Fairgrounds & Agricenter facility holds many fond memories for them, and Keaton described it as their “home away from home.” It was the perfect place for our shoot.
When we first arrived, we were a little worried about the heat; it had been unseasonably warm the days before. But it turned out to be a perfect day. There was just enough sun for a beautiful glow in all their photos. I loved watching the couple interact at the shoot. Clay was the epitome of a southern gentleman – always caring for Keaton by helping her on and off the rides and watching out for her. It is clear how much he loves her. Keaton adores Clay – you can see it in her eyes every time she mentions him or looks at him. She has a twinkle that is all for Clay.
Trent and I love photographing couples. It wasn’t long into the session before we were all laughing and having a great time. This was an incredible experience. I loved working with the couple, and getting to shoot on all the incredible rides at the fair was one of the highlights of my photography career. It just doesn’t get any cooler than that! I hope you enjoy my favorites from their session, and get excited: another photo shoot with Keaton & Clay is scheduled for the fall.
It’s about to get bumpy… (keep scrolling, I think it’s pretty “punny”)
This pregnancy announcement is one of my favorite sessions ever! Congratulations Keaton and Clay! We are so excited for you both!
